Introduction

The Pacific Maritime ecozone is found along British Columbia’s coast. It covers 195 000 square kilometers and consist of the Coast Mountains, B.C’s marine Islands, and a small corner of the southwestern Yukon. This is probably the most remarkable ecozone of them all. It has breathtaking landforms which include mountains, fiords, and even hot springs! It has beautiful wildlife with the differing ecosystems that can provide habitats on land and in water. It has record breaking trees that are supported by its uniquely mild climate. However, even with all its natural beauty, there are so many human activities here, from logging, to fishing, to helicopter rides! The Pacific Maritime Ecozone is a place of great diversity and stunning beauty.
